Most problems with new trees and shrubs come down to the wrong plant for the location or planting too deep. Before anything goes in the ground, we account for mature size, sun exposure, and distance from the house and utilities. Holes are dug wide rather than deep, root balls are set at the proper height, and every plant is watered in and mulched.
We plant arborvitae and evergreen privacy screens, shade and ornamental trees, and foundation shrubs. We can also remove old shrubs that have outgrown their space and replace them with better-suited plants.

Spring and fall are best in Ohio. Fall planting in particular gives roots several weeks to grow before winter, without the heat stress of a summer install.
Arborvitae is a common choice because it grows tall and narrow and stays green year-round. Spruce, holly, and mixed shrub borders are other options, depending on how much room you have.
New trees and shrubs typically need a deep watering two to three times a week for the first several weeks, then less often as roots establish. We give you specific guidance for everything we plant.
